NOT America's Next Top Model
A few weeks ago I wrote about my husband's bathroom reading material. Over the weekend a new catalog showed up called Northern Safety & Industrial. They sell things like hard hats and safety goggles. Admittedly that is unexpected bathroom reading material, but not in my house. What was unexpected was the modeling. Clearly the art director thought this was a completely different kind of layout. I couldn't help scanning a few of my favorite shots and adding my own captions...

This is hysterical! I guess there's only so many ways to make construction equipment/shower cap thingies look cool. Oh wait--there is no way to make them look cool at all! They just look silly, especially the protective eyewear chick. Hee hee, ANTM they are *definitely* not!
I love the harness shot. I'm having a hard time envisioning the photo shoot for this catalog. "Hey, Jimmy, can you look over your shoulder a little so I can get your face in this shot of the harness." What kind of guidance do you give to your model and how do you become a model. If I had an agent and ended up modeling hard hats I think that would be the sign to tell me I don't really have a future in modeling! But if it pays good toss me some goggles and a mask.

Love the sultry safety glasses pic, but then died laughing when I saw the harness one. Totally worth your scanning time! Hysterical!
