The arc of history

There's this one small part of President-elect Obama's speech from election night that I keep thinking about:
It's the answer that led those who've been told for so long by so many to be cynical and fearful and doubtful about what we can achieve to put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day.

I just love that so much and my naive, liberal heart really hopes it is true.

Relive the moment. Read the full speech.

That bit struck me too. He's a poet, your lovely Obama.

I actually printed the speech to save for my kids! I love that line too. You picture Obama inviting everyone to grab on to this rusty old pole and bend it into a rainbow. His speechwriter is fabulous.

Charlotte -- certainly his speech writer is a poet. But maybe that line came right from him? Hope so!

Sara -- I love your visual. That is exactly it.

Emily -- yay for the naive liberals!
